Books By Blei: A Little Princess

A Little Princess
by Frances Hodgson Burnett

Recommended by: Jerica J.
When Sara Crewe and her father came to London to drop Sara off at Miss Minchin's boarding school for girls, Sara is set to receive great fortune from her father. When she becomes penniless and finds her father is dead, she wonders what happened. Eventually she meets a man and her fortune is restored. My favorite character is Sara because she always had a positive attitude and was always kind.

This is a very good book that takes place in Brooklyn when the Brooklyn Bridge is being built. It's about a girl named Bird and a boy named Thomas. The book takes you through the journey of Bird wanting to become a nurse like her mom, and what she does to be like her mom. All the while, Thomas is falling in love with writing all about Bird and what he thinks about her.
