Have you ever wanted to travel back in time? Perhaps to London in the years 1940-1944? Then this book would be appealing to you! This book is about a boy named John Martin Conway, or Martin. Martin has been having these dreams lately where he appears to be in London in the year 1940. He meets a boy named Jimmy who tells Martin, or Johnny, as Jimmy calls him, that he has a "bit" to do. It isn't until way later that Martin actually figures out what his "bit" to do is. My favorite part in the book is the part where Martin beats up Hank Lowery IV. It was cool to see him finally stand up for himself. I like how the author made time travel seem possible. Read this book to see what Martin's "bit" was. 

This book was: Very nicely written! Excellent!

When the teacher chose this book for me, I was unsure if I would enjoy it. The book looked lit it was historical fiction, but it mentioned the main character was a fairy! How could that be? Well, the book was amazing. It was a blend of the past with magic. The setting was the Dust Bowl during the Great Depression. Callie, part fairy, was in search of her mother. The search was dangerous and put her in many tough spots. Read and see if she finds her mother. Can Callie be at peace with her magic?

This book was: Really Good!

While meeting many people along the way, they use magic, avoid German spies, and get help from their Latin teacher. Luckily for Janie and Benjamin, they aren't alone! They soon make a new friend and ally and are able to get even closer to Benjamin's father. But will they ever get there? Read it and find out! My favorite character is Janie because she is smart and curious - king of like me! She adds a lot to the story that makes it exciting, it would be quite boring without her. Onetime she knew where to hide when no one else did!

So, he goes back to France to make things right, by finding a little boy, Pierre, who helped him hide from the Gestapo. When he gets to France and finds that Pierre is not there in the little village he left him in, Henry goes to the house Madame lives in to get a clue to where Pierre is now. Will Henry find Pierre? And if he does, what will he do?

This book was: Intense!

Scarlett has to get her hands dirty. After the war, her survival problems are over, but now her love life is a mess. How far will Scarlett go to reach her crazy goals?

This is the story of a young boy named Arn whose father died in a car accident just months before. He is forced to live with his sisters, Chantou, Maly, Jorami, Sophea, and his younger brother, Munny. They live with their aunt. The book starts when the Khmer soldiers told the people of Mongolia that an American plane is coming to bomb  the city and everyone must go to the countryside. Arn's aunt learns that this is not the case. After three tiring days of walking, Arn and his siblings are separated to different refugee camps. They work during the day and get little to no food. The family wants to relocate. Will Arn ever see freedom again? Read to find out!
