Alex Stoff's bestfriend died and he was a witness. He lies to avoid getting kicked out of boarding school. His friend, Thomas, died while jumping in the river - but he was drunk. Alex tries to keep his secret - but Mrs. Dovett saw what happened. Question is, how much did she see?
I personally didn't like the style of the book. It's set in 1982 and Alex loves English. I think he used too many references to older books. I think this book could be for the right person though.
